UVM Lane Series - My Favorite Beethoven

University Events
UVM Recital Hall
Friday, Feb 4, 2022 at 7:30 PM (ET)

This show, originally scheduled for 3/20/20, was the first show that we had to cancel at the beginning of the pandemic. We are delighted to be able to bring it back to the hall for our chamber music audience, following closely on the heels of the Beethoven program in collaboration with the Lake Champlain Chamber Music Festival.

We asked three brilliant musicians to put together a special program featuring works by Beethoven that they most enjoy playing and listening to. Each has chosen a favorite piece which they are excited to share. David Kaplan is a brilliant, innovative pianist who focuses on connecting the music of the past with the present and has gained notoriety for his creative programming. Tessa Lark has a reputation as a budding superstar in the classical world, as evidenced by her Avery Fisher Career Grant, but she is also a highly acclaimed bluegrass fiddler in the tradition of her native Kentucky (yes, she does play bluegrass on her Stradivarius). Colin Carr is a phenomenal cellist who has made a name for himself as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and teacher. They will perform Violin Sonata No. 1 in D Major, Op. 12, No.1; Cello Sonata No. 3 in A Major, Op. 69; and Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 97, “Archduke.”

Please note: There will be a convenience fee of $3.25 added to your purchase on the checkout page. This fee includes credit card and per-ticket fees charged by the ticketing system. Fees for students are already included in the $5 ticket price.
