“Cohen, 28, has a breezy, phlegmatic command at the keyboard, and a deep well of historical jazz references at his fingertips…” – The New York Times
Emmet Cohen notes that performing jazz is "about communicating the deepest levels of humanity and individuality; it's essentially about connections," both among musicians and with audiences. He is a generous, technically accomplished, and sensitive performer, and his soulful and warm style of playing is perfectly suited to our superb listening room. In constant demand as a soloist, ensemble member, and sideman he is a member of Christian McBride's trio "Tip City" and serves as pianist and music director for vocalist Veronica Swift. He also prioritizes projects like his Master’s Legacy Series, a celebratory set of recordings and interviews honoring legendary jazz musicians, and is a master teacher with Lincoln Center’s “Jazz for Young People”.
